Education Corner: American Council of Engineering Companies of Hawaii names 2025 Student of the Year

Travis Nitta has been announced as the winner of the ACECH 2025 Student of the Year award. The award is to be presented to Nitta by the ACECH at the 2025 Hawaii Council of Engineering Societies Banquet on Feb. 22.

A Henry J. Kaiser High School alum, Nitta is currently a University of Hawai‘i Regents Scholar. He serves as the president of the student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and is a member of XE, the national civil engineering honor society. Additionally, Nitta is the XE liaison to the Engineering Council at the University of Hawai‘i.

Nitta has also won the SEAOH (Structural Engineering Association of Hawai‘i) Scholarship and the Outstanding ASCE Student Chapter member awards.

Nitta is scheduled to complete his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in Spring 2025.
