Running multimillion-dollar projects at Unlimited Construction comes naturally to Kuulei Gaisoa. When she joined Unlimited in 2006, she vowed to be “the last man standing, as this is construction.”
PROJECT DELIVERY
Born and raised on Kauai and based at Unlimited’s Kauai branch, Gaisoa has overseen construction of the following Oahu projects: Bishop Place, Phases 1 through 3; Keahumoa Place, Phases 1 through 3; and Moanalua Hillside Apartments. In addition, she has managed Hilton Ocean Tower on the Big Island and Waimea Huakai on Kauai. Gaisoa currently oversees Hanalei Base Yard on Kauai, and Halewaiolu and Bishop Place Phase 4, both on Oahu.
OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS
At her first job assisting with financials and project management at No Ka Oi Landscape Services, her parents’ business, Gaisoa was subcontracting with Unlimited when she was asked to come aboard. “Unlimited was impressed with my work ethic,” she says.
LADDER OF SUCCESS
“I started in contracts, moved to estimating, then to project engineer, accounting manager and operations manager. I became an Unlimited Construction executive vice president and part owner in 2017 and currently manage Unlimited’s accounting, financial, information technology, human resources, safety, equipment, training and operations departments.”

“I am tenacious and give 150% all the time. This is both a positive and a negative. I will always put in the hard work and give all of my energy, heart and attitude to get the job done. However, in doing so, I can be extremely vocal. For women who enter construction, I tend to push them more as I want them to build a career. They need to be well-versed and able to tackle any task.”
PROJECT STARTS
“While we do expect some form of industry reset, we don’t expect 2023 to be the year work subsides. Time will tell if projects taper off. But as of today, there is a positive feeling across the board and a lot of exciting work on the horizon.”
