Young patients at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children and their families are experiencing some extra holiday cheer this year, thanks to Hawaii Flooring Solutions (HFS) and its Helping Hands initiative.
The program, now in its eighth year after being launched by HFS’ flooring supply partner, J+J Flooring, brings together designers and flooring professionals during the holiday season for a festive Christmas tree decorating competition. The trees are then donated to children’s hospitals and similar organizations nationwide, brightening the holidays for patients, families, and staff.
“We’re so grateful to see how much this program has grown,” says Kim Bobo, Director of Marketing at J+J Flooring. “We started with just one hospital, and now we’re in 19 cities across the country, including Honolulu. The incredible response to Helping Hands and the generosity of our design partners have made it possible to spread even more joy every year.”
At Kapiolani Medical Center, the trees do more than add festive flair. Many incorporate toys and games into their designs, offering children enduring entertainment even after the holidays. This year’s winning entries were delivered by HFS representatives earlier this month.
