Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Pacific awarded a $106,898,463 firm-fixed price task order to Core Tech-HDCC-Kajima LLC on April 26 for the construction of an embarkation facility at Naval Base Guam in Apra Harbor. 

Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. Inc. is a member of the Guam-based joint venture.

The project is expected to be complete in October 2026.

According to a NAVFAC Pacific news release, the work to be performed includes, but is not limited to, construction of a facility to be used for embarkation and debarkation by the Third Marine Expeditionary Force on ships at Naval Base Guam. 

The facility consists of wash and inspection areas, cargo staging areas, a biosecure holding area, wash water recycling and storm water retention and infiltration basin, and incidental related work. 

The contract is the fourth of 12 Defense Policy Review Initiative military construction projects NAVFAC Pacific plans to award in Fiscal Year 2023. The contract is funded by the Government of Japan as part of an international agreement between Japan and the U.S.
