Hawaii Gives: Moss Foundation donates $100,000 to Maui relief efforts

The Moss Foundation Inc. donated $100,000 to the Maui Strong Fund via the Hawai‘i Community Foundation (HCF) during a check presentation on Nov. 2.

The Moss Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization under the leadership of Moss & Associates president Chad Moss, and is dedicated to assisting non-profit organizations and communities throughout the nation.

“In the face of the devastating Maui wildfires that swept through the island, our hearts went out to the people of Maui where some of our Moss ‘ohana call it home,” the foundation said in a social media post on Nov. 7. “In times of adversity, we believe that we are more than a business — we believe in honoring relationships with family and the community by being united in all ways. That’s why we’ve proudly joined hands with the Hawai‘i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund to support those affected. Together, we’re not just rebuilding; we’re strengthening the bonds that make Maui the resilient community it is.”

Several employees of Moss have ties to Maui. Though they were not immediately affected by the tragic fires of August 8, many in their families were.

The general contractor has offices in Hawai‘i, Texas and Florida, and is currently involved in two multi-family housing projects on Maui.
