The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) joined other City departments in the annual Honolulu City Lights holiday display contest in December. HART’s colorful entry was set up in Honolulu Hale with 36,544 Lego bricks from 305 box sets donated by their staff. The display, which featured a mini-Skyline made of Lego surrounded by whimsical seasonal decorations, earned a second-place Holiday Spirit Award.
The Lego sets were later showcased in the Shriners Children’s Hawai‘i hospital lobby and distributed to keiki patients.
