Bryan Gallagher has been appointed deputy director of the City & County of Honolulu’s Department of Planning and Permitting by Mayor Rick Blagiardi. Gallagher replaces Jiro Sumada, who was deputy director at DPP from December 2022 through April 2024.
Prior to his new appointment, Gallagher served for two years as deputy director of the city’s Department of Design and Construction and was with the Board of Water Supply for over 20 years.
“Bryan Gallagher is an outstanding leader and civil engineer with a proven track record of excellence,” Mayor Blangiardi said in a press release. “His extensive experience and successful handling of various challenges at the Department of Design and Construction and his prior work at the Board of Water Supply make him an ideal fit for this critical leadership position.”
Gallagher was scheduled to begin his new role on July 1.
