HPM Building Supply announced April 17 its acquisition of 87ZERO, a Honolulu-based supplier of custom cabinetry; architectural elements; furniture, fixtures, and equipment; and premium appliances.

The company, which also provides global sourcing and manufacturing of interior products, is now known as 87ZERO by HPM and will supply large-scale projects by Hawaii developers, hoteliers and contractors, as well as provide affordable luxury interior options to local homeowners.

“87ZERO and HPM first connected through our shared passion for helping to build more attainable housing for Hawai‘i families,” said Jason Fujimoto, HPM president and CEO, in a news release. “We saw the potential to combine our strengths, create new, innovative solutions for our community, and provide an even more seamless, one-stop shop for customers at every price point.”

Two showrooms spanning 5,300 square feet in the Na Lama Kukui Lifestyle and Design Center on ʻOahu now feature 87ZERO by HPM’s product lines, including Italian-crafted SmartCucina cabinetry and global kitchen brand Ernestomeda, as well as premium appliances from Bosch, Gaggenau, Miele and Thermador.

HPM also plans to develop and source products for Hawaiʻi’s high-end and affordable housing markets by working with 87ZERO’s manufacturing partners in Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Italy, Germany and the United States.

87ZERO’s 15 staff members are now part of HPM’s more than 500 owner-employees located in Hawaiʻi.
