Alexander & Baldwin recently donated $3,224 to O‘ahu-based nonprofit Aloha United Way, bringing the total amount given by A&B to AUW as a result of A&B’s 2023 workplace giving campaign to $110,000, according to Andrea Galvin, manager of corporate communications for A&B. United Way Worldwide, the parent organization to AUW, encourages private and public sector employers to provide opportunities for its employees to donate to local charities or their local United Way chapter via recurring payroll deductions, one-time donations and other means.

According to AUW’s website, over $12 million was raised for the organization via workplace giving initiatives in 2021. AUW partners with more than 1,400 businesses to raise funds that are distributed to over 350 nonprofit organizations on O‘ahu.

In 2022, A&B contributed over $975,000 to 181 organizations, according to A&B’s 2022 Review of Giving report. Programs receiving donations included services for health and human services, education, culture and the arts, among others.
