New Products: Sci-fi Support

Most contractors know the feeling of holding their arms above their head for extended periods of time. Festools recently released a tool meant to alleviate that fatigue — the ExoActive Exoskeleton. Worn as a backpack, the Exoskeleton offers upper arm support for overhead tasks such as sanding ceilings or painting high walls.

The Exoskeleton is battery-powered and has three “working areas” of support with five support levels, allowing users to pinpoint where they need the most reinforcement and how much. The mechanism is also adjustable to accommodate the user’s height.

Purchases come with support harness, headrest, high power battery pack, rapid charger, EPP transport box and a Festool warranty. Additional harness options are attachable for the user’s personal comfort, with all textile components washing machine-safe.
