Montana-based wood company Klaaswood announces a second-generation hydrolysis technique to modify wood at lower temperatures without the use of harsh chemicals, which maintains the original integrity of the wood and heightens longevity.

The second-gen hydrolysis process involves changing the molecular components of the wood, building a defense against liquid, mold and rot by using high pressure and low heat.

This method lowers the production costs of modification along with the carbon footprint, due to the smaller amount of energy required. The gentler nature of second-gen hydrolysis also allows a wider range of woods to be processed. All these attributes and more are what gives this product a Class 1 durability certification. klaaswood.com
