Marvin Windows & Doors, in partnership with Cardinal Glass Industries, now offers Marvin Modern direct-glaze windows with switchable CLiC privacy glass.

A unique application of a proprietary liquid crystal technology allows windows to switch from a clear view to a private one with just the click of a button. When in clear mode, liquid crystals align to provide an unobstructed view through a clear glass pane. When privacy is desired, activating a wall-mounted switch scatters the crystals, creating diffused illumination and obscuring views from prying eyes, while still allowing soft light to pass through. CLiC glass can also integrate with home automation systems, making the transition process even easier.

“As many homeowners continue to gravitate toward modern home designs, large expanses of glass and uninterrupted sight lines are critical elements of that design philosophy,” David Goulet, Marvin’s vice president of R&D and product development, said in a press release announcing the new product. “Leveraging the benefits of switchable privacy glass is an ideal way to stay true to modern design principles while enjoying the ease of opening up or closing off the view from a space at the push of a button.” marvin.com
