Local architectural firm Ferraro Choi and Associates Ltd. participated in the Helping Hands Initiative to support Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children in Honolulu. Ferraro Choi decorated and donated a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed Christmas tree which was delivered to the hospital during the week of Dec. 9.
Spearheaded locally by Hawaii Flooring Solutions (HFS), the Helping Hands Initiative was created by mainland-based J+J Flooring, HFS’ supply partner. Now in its eighth year, the event encourages designers and flooring professionals to create themed Christmas trees to be enjoyed by children and their families at regional children’s hospitals and other organizations. The Helping Hands Initiative currently runs in 19 cities nationwide each November and December.
Additionally, Ferraro Choi recently conducted its annual Toys for Tots drive, where employees were encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys for local children in need.
“Giving back to our community during the holidays has become a cornerstone of who we are as a company,” said Troy Miyasato, Ferraro Choi president, in a statement. “Whether it’s decorating a tree to bring a little joy to a hospital or rallying our team for Toys for Tots, we are grateful for the opportunity to make a small difference in the lives of others.”
