The Society for Marketing Professional Services’ Hawaii Chapter raised $1,020 during the organization’s annual “Summer Sipping” event at the Outrigger Canoe Club in Waikīkī in August. The gathering featured a raffle with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to AccessSurf Hawai‘i.
AccessSurf is a nonprofit dedicated to giving people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in and enjoy beach activities, including swimming, surfing and canoeing.
“AccessSurf was honored to be selected by SMPS to participate in their Summer Sipping event,” said AccessSurf Executive Director Cara Short in a press release. “We welcomed the opportunity to share about our mission and we greatly appreciate the fundraising support from the evening!”
The event also highlighted a leadership change for SMPS, as outgoing Chapter President Summer Vaimaona of Swinerton passed the torch to Dominique Perry from Coffman Engineers. Perry will serve as president for the 2024-2025 term.
Composed of marketing professionals from the architectural, engineering and construction sectors, SMPS provides members the opportunity to network and pool resources to learn from each other and promote the advancement of their respective careers and industries.
