The County of Maui Department of Finance’s Purchasing Division announced a new partnership with Public Purchase, a web-based e-procurement service, to provide vendor registration as well as additional e-procurement services for the County and contracting community.

The new system will  provide automatic notification and transmission of bid solicitations to vendors, with Public Purchase also providing complimentary access to bid opportunities with other government entities.

The Public Purchase system will be implemented in phases, starting with construction projects so the Purchasing Division can familiarize itself with the new software. Initially, the division will continue to list projects on its own website, with a link to the Public Purchase system for construction projects.

Eventually, the Public Purchase system will expand to include all non-construction solicitations for goods and services in Maui County. For construction contractors needing plans and specifications for a project listed, or subcontractors who just want to see which general contractors are bidding, a two-step vendor registration process is required.

Non-construction vendors are encouraged to register, as the system will soon include all solicitations. County officials remind vendors that registration must be completed twice — once with Public Purchase and again with Maui County.

Visit  publicpurchase.com/gems/register/vendor/register to start the registration process.
