Contracts Awarded
March Roars and the YTD Total Soars
Contracts awarded during March soared to $94,858,546—nearly
$50 million more than was awarded in February—to bring the total for the YTD quarter to $228,755,759.
The March awards mean the construction industry's YTD total for 2013 is more than triple the $71,435,114 posted during the same three-month period last year.
Forty-three contracts were awarded across the islands, compared to 39 in February. That's an average of $2.2 million per job. The largest contract, of more than $22.6 million, went to F&H Construction. Grace Pacific Corporation landed more than $19.1 million in jobs, followed by Road & Highways Builders, LLC at $11.3 million and Isemoto Contracting Co., Ltd. at $10.4 million.
The largest agency awards were by the University of Hawaii at $35.4 million and the City & County of Honolulu at $31.6 million..
